Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & Sustainability Strategy

At BÀMÌRÀÁ, we take our commitment to the environment and our community very seriously. Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability initiatives are an integral part of our mission and vision. We believe in being a part of the society, practicing ethical business practices, and minimizing our environmental impact. This document outlines our CSR/SSR (Social and Sustainable Responsibility) initiatives and how we plan to turn them into action.

 

  1. Recycling Cartons and Plastic Bottles:

   Plan: We are dedicated to reducing waste and minimizing our ecological footprint. We will implement a comprehensive recycling program that focuses on cartons and plastic bottles.

   Action:

– We will encourage our customers to return and recycle the packaging materials we use.

– We will partner with local recycling facilities to ensure proper disposal and recycling of these materials.

– We will educate our staff and customers about the importance of recycling and provide easy-to-follow guidelines.

– Customers will get incentives (subsidized next delivery, bam credit for future purchase, good discounts, etc.) for participating in our recycle initiative.

 

  1. Electric Bike and Car Delivery:

   Plan: To reduce our carbon emissions and dependence on fossil fuels, we plan to transition to electric vehicles for our delivery services in the nearest foreseeable future.

   Action:

 – We plan to invest in electric bikes and cars for our deliveries.

 

  1. Waste Management:

   Plan: Minimizing waste is a crucial part of our sustainability efforts. We will take a proactive approach to waste management.

   Action:

 – When customers return packages, we will collect and donate any unspoiled or non-perishable items to local charitable foundations.

 – We will maintain records of the quantity and type of donated items and ensure transparency in the donation process.

 – We will encourage our customers to opt for eco-friendly packaging options to reduce waste.

 

  1. Digital Transformation and E-Invoices:

   Plan: We are committed to eliminating completely our stationary purchase and paper usage therefore environmental impact. We will embrace digital solutions for invoicing and documentation.

   Action:

 – We will implement electronic invoicing and digital documentation for all our business transactions.

 – We will educate our partners, suppliers, and customers about the benefits of e-invoices.

 – We will monitor our partners and vendors’ consumption/footprint. Then set targets for continued review / expectations to determine viability of relationships based on their ESG practices.

 

  1. Climate Change and Reforestation:

   Plan: Our CSR drive will focus on climate change mitigation and reforestation efforts.

   Action:

 – We will partner with environmental organizations and tree-planting initiatives.

 – We will contribute a portion of our profits to fund tree-planting projects.

 – We will organize tree-planting events involving our employees, customers, and local communities.

 – We will monitor and report on the number of trees planted and the reduction in our carbon footprint till it’s completely netted off.

 

  1. Employee Volunteering with Climate Non-Profit Organizations:

   Plan: At BÀMÌRÀÁ, due to a collective culture of loving Mother Nature. We believe in actively engaging in CSR/SSR initiatives individually and together. We support employee-volunteerism: 3 days a year, we take the days participating in climate action with climate non-profit organizations in Nigeria. 

   Action:

 – We will collaborate with recognized climate non-profit organizations in Nigeria.

 – When members of the Bamiraa go to support local communities by volunteering, there is a paid time-off allocated to them. 

 – We will create opportunities for our employees to learn about and contribute to local climate-related initiatives, such as reforestation, conservation, or climate education programs.

 – We will document and share the experiences of our employee volunteers, celebrating their commitment to environmental and social causes.

 

Our CSR/SSR initiatives reflect our core values and commitment to creating a positive impact on society and the environment. We believe in transparency and accountability, and we will regularly report on our progress toward these goals. Together, with the support of our customers, partners, and communities, we aim to create a more sustainable and responsible future for all.
